Casual on Repeat

 Welcome Back!!

I’m still on my casual kick, as you can see. Neutrals are just so nice!

I just picked up this Paris tee from J. Crew Factory. I totally want to tuck it into a big tulle skirt. I recently discovered Frankie chinos at the Factory store (similar to the Andie chinos in the retail store) and they are my favorite pants ever. Period. EVER. They are super comfortable and just the right length for flats or wedges. They are soft and don’t get saggy by the end of the day. To me, they are so much more comfotable than jeans so if I can’t wear my PJ pants, I’ll be wearing the Frankie chino! I have purchased all of the colors except the khaki (khaki is a hard thing to wear if you have big hips) and the dark purple color.

What are you loving right now?

Weekend Casual

Hello all! Welcome back!

I’ve been staying casual as much as possible lately! It’s much too hot for anything else.

I bought this T-shirt at J. Crew Factory a few weeks ago and I’ve been living in it. I actually sized up so it would be loose and comfy. I know I’m way behind, but I bought my first crossbody bag this past week and I love it! I’ve always been a structured satchel kind of woman but I wanted a hands-free option for running errands. I only wish I had jumped on the bandwagon earlier!

Have a great weekend y’all!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hello all! I’m back and blogging after a rough week with the computer….I’ve missed you all!

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and a Happy Memorial Day!

I spent my weekend in full relaxation mode–lounge pants, vegging out, watching movies, reading in the sunshine, and of course spending time with my family! I really needed a nice little vacation from work and stress.

I’m re-reading The Prince of Tides. Pat Conroy is my all-time favorite author. I read this book in college and decided that I’d go through it again this summer. Even though I know what happens, Pat Conroy just has that magical way with words that I cannot put down.

On to what you came here for–some outfits and shopping!

I was in Target to get a few essentials (read: Blue Moon and an orange!) and I saw some great stuff on sale!14305320_130104103000

I’m really excited about this tote bag! First of all, it’s navy and I love navy! It’s dressy enough to be a “work bag” but is still simple and casual for the weekend. Plus, it was only $20 in store! Here’s the link but unfortunately it’s still full price online.

I think this is my new favorite top. I love the print and the silky feel of it. It makes me feel like I’m actually on a tropical vacation somewhere. It was way too cold here to hit the beach, so this is as close as I could get!

Weekend Whereabouts + More

Hi y’all! Welcome back!

We had yet another rainy, dreary weekend in Williamsburg. Only this time, it was really humid!  Walking outside was like being wrapped in a wet wool blanket! Ugh! Memorial Day weekend promises to be nicer!

My husband and I spent the majority of our time with Cole. He is desperate to play outside, go for a ride, and just generally get back to his normal routine. But we have one more week of taking it easy before he can get his stitches out so our weekend consisted of lots of movies and Netflix! The one time I did venture out, I wore:

Shorts and rope necklace, Target; Top, Loft; Flip flops, Tory Burch.

My office has permitted denim to be worn the last two weeks! After a few days of wearing jeans I just felt sloppy, so enter my trusty jean jacket! It makes even the dressiest dress a little more relaxed and that way I can still be a team player without looking like a slob!

Casual Friday + My Dog

Happy Friday Friends!

Ahhh, it’s time for some casual clothes!

Y’all, seriously. It’s Friday. I feel like I’ll probably be wearing some version of this outfit all weekend.

Prep-tastic, that’s me.

My Golden Retriever Cole has been dying to be on the blog! He's all, "Stop taking pictures and pet me!"

My dog is pretty awesome. He is my loyal companion and cuddle buddy!  I’m looking forward to spending the weekend giving him lots of attention and walks. I’m hoping to see “Oz” this weekend if I can find a theater still showing it. What are my blog readers doing this weekend? And of course I want to know what you’ll be wearing?!?

Simply Friday + Getting Crafty!

Happy Friday Friends!

Everything just seems so much brighter on Fridays! The stresses of the week are about to take a 2-day hiatus. I’m super excited for Easter!!

I was off today and spent my day running errands and getting ready for this weekend. Work has fried my brain recently, and I struggled to be creative this morning. I have to say though, that some of my favorite outfits are the simplest ones! Southern Belle Rule #1: KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetheart!)

I had the day off and went super casual and simple! Sweater and rolled-cuff chinos, Gap. Sandals, Loft. Necklace, Loft Outlet.

I loved this necklace the second I saw it!

I really count on accessories to pull together simple pieces. And I totally go through accessories phases; for years, I wanted nothing but giant earrings, and now statement necklaces are my go-to to inject a little interest into an otherwise basic outfit.

I LOVEEEEE being crafty, so instead of buying a new Easter/Spring wreath, I made one! This ribbon wreath was so simple and fun to make! Just grab a foam wreath form, 12-15 spools of ribbon, straight pins, scissors, and a glass of wine and you’re ready!

My ribbon wreath!

You know us Southerners love a monogram. I couldn’t resist adding a wooden craft letter to my wreath. I used these directions to make my ribbon wreath: http://familycrafts.about.com/od/wreaths/ss/ribbonwreath.htm

Happy Easter readers! And have a wonderful weekend!
