We had a nice little weekend here in Williamsburg. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well! Saturday was rainy, and the perfect day to sleep in ’til noon and read a good book. Sunday was gorgeous and a great day to be outside so I took full advantage of it! You never know when you will get the next nice day around here!
Brace yourself before you get too excited, Southern Living’s turned out much prettier than mine!
With some banana…..gotta get that fruit in!
This turned out wonderfully (if I do say so myself). It was so good! I followed the recipe exactly and would make it again for brunch or maybe Christmas or Easter morning! Be warned though, it took about three and a half hours so give yourself plenty of time.
It’s time to relax, sit back, and pour yourself a drink! My personal favorite is a Southern Spiked Sweet Tea. This drink always makes me think of warm breezes and relaxing on the porch, even if it’s 20 degrees outside! I just shake 2 oz. of Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka with 8 oz. of lemonade. I usually try to make fresh lemonade, but if I’m feeling lazy Simple Lemon does the job! Pour over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge and mint leaves if desired.

And of course we couldn’t have Friday without a casual outfit!
Jeans and sweatshirt, J. Crew; Button down, Target; Flats, Tory Burch.
I’m dying to break out my spring clothes. It’s been warmer here all week, so if I can’t wear short sleeves yet I’ll at least wear some bright colors!
First I want to say that my heart goes out to Boston. Prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones and to all those injured (or just plain terrified) by those terrible happenings.
Next, I want to give you a head’s up that today’s post is just a tad bit random–today I want to share a few things I am currently loving!
With the beautiful weather and nice evenings, I’ve enjoyed eating dinner on the back porch. And back-porch eatin’ calls for lighter fare! I saw an episode of Trisha Yearwood’s show on the Food Network this past weekend and just had to try her Minty Greek Salad. It was delicious, light, refreshing and surprisingly filling (everything a Spring/Summer meal should be!). Check out the recipe:http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/trisha-yearwood/minty-greek-salad-recipe/index.html
Skirt, Target; Blouse, Old Navy; Necklace, J. Crew Factory; Pumps, Nine West.
Bright Red ANYTHING!! It’s no secret I love bright colors–but I’ve been wearing more and more red lately.
I should start a Southern Belle Book Club!
I’ve always loved to read, and right now I’m enjoying “Bound South”. Can’t you just picture me sitting on my porch wearing my J. Crew floppy hat and drinking a Southern Spiked Lemonade?? I’ll let y’all know what I think when I finish it!
I love this gorgeous tunic from Lands End! It also comes in yellow. I’ve ordered the “celestial blue” and can’t wait for the UPS man ( or woman) to drop it off! Nothing says warm weather like a tunic and white jeans!
