Hello all and welcome back!
I’ve been feeling antsy this past week, wanting some instant gratification on something I’m working on. I like having a plan, sticking to it, and getting the result I want. But life just doesn’t work that way! And I for one can honestly THANK GOD that some of my plans didn’t work out in the past! If they had, I would have really missed out on something even better.
I know God’s plan is better than anything I could ever come up with even on my best day, so I’ll do my best to sit tight and enjoy the moment where I am. This is not easy! The right thing will happen at the right time.
Happy Weekend to you all!
I wouldn’t leave you hanging without a gift guide for the gentleman in your life! Men can be tough to shop for. There are only so many power tools one garage can hold! Here are a few ideas:
I know my husband would really like the whiskey decanter! A subscription to a magazine you know he reads is a great surprise.Who can resist the heart print boxers? They’re a steal!
What are you giving the man in your life this February 14th?
It’s that time of year again–Valentine’s Day!
I rounded up a few cute things in case you’re in need of some ideas!
I don’t expect anything extravagant for V-Day, but a small token of affection is always welcome! I especially like the card that says “I hate everyone but you”. My husband would love it!
What are you hoping to get this Valentine’s Day?
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. The past few weeks have been pretty scary for our world. Terrorist attacks, cyber hacks, hostages, uncertain alliances–I never know what I’m going to see next when I turn on the news (probably why so many people don’t watch). It often feels so out of control and I find myself really depressed and powerless.
This verse is so powerful to me. It is hard to “be still” in our world, but it helps me to remember who is really in control.
See you all next week!
Hello all and welcome back!!
Hope you’re all having a fabulous week! I don’t know about you guys, but January is a tough month for me–the holidays and time off work are both over, it’s cold and bleak, and spring seems far away. It’s the little things that put some pep back in my step, and I wanted to share a few things I am currently loving!
1) These simple gold bar earrings– I bought a similar pair at Banana Republic Factory last week and they are a nice change from studs. I love the small and simple trend!
2) Crabtree & Evelyn hand cream– my sister gave me a beautiful boxed set with different scents for Christmas and I love how fresh the lavender one smells!
3)These pretty print J. Crew Factory flats combine two things I love–florals and bows!
4) Look at this wonderful pink tote from Target! I’ve been looking for the right pink because all of the “blush” that’s out there isn’t really my favorite. This fits the bill! Can’t believe it’s from Target!
5) I love stationary, notebooks and blank notecards. I keep a journal and this gold is too pretty to pass up!
6) Essie nail polish in Ladylike–I found this polish in my drawer and can’t believe I haven’t worn it more! It’s a mauve-lavender and a nice neutral. I think it’s discontinued but still available on Amazon!
What are you loving right now?
Hey y’all! Welcome back!
Hope your week is off to a great start!
If you’re anything like me, you spend hours on Pinterest. I just find so much inspiration! I’m constantly pinning outfits I want to re-create, crafts I want to make, and recipes to try.
Lots of camouflage pants have recently been making their way through my home feed. Like this:
Despite growing up surrounded by camo, I didn’t actually own any of my own until this past year. I bought a pair of camouflage pants on a whim last year at Loft but had only worn them once. I’ve been trying to wear more of the things that hide in the back of my closet, so here goes!
Pants, Loft; Button down, Ann Taylor; Sweatshirt, Old Navy; Pumps, Nine West; bag, Express; Sunglasses, Tory Burch
While I liked to casualness of the pins I wanted to take these up a notch, so I dressed them up with a button down, pumps, and a structured bag.
I could get away with wearing this to work because my office is fairly casual. I’ve seen a few camo pencil skirts, and those would be cute too!
Hope you’re all having a good week!
See you soon!

Have a peaceful and relaxing Sunday!
We’re already halfway through this week! January is flying!
So many people resolve to get active after New Year’s that this is the best time of the year to stock up on workout clothes! The C9 by Champion line at Target is my favorite. I have a few Under Armor pieces, some Nike, and a pair of Adidas capris but C9 is my go-to because it’s affordable, colorful, and holds up well. Target is having a sale on C9 this week, so if you’re active like I am you should check it out! Below, some of my picks:
Seamless 1/4 Zip Pullover
I have three of these pullovers and they’re great for that in-between weather when it’s too cold for just a short sleeve top but too warm for a fleece, or they work well as a layering piece when it is really cold.
Women’s Woven Pant
I bought these pants off the clearance rack (score!) and like the 1/4 zip, they are versatile for warmer weather or layering in colder weather. These are really lightweight but do a decent job of keeping the wind off if you’re running outside.
Short Sleeve Performance Tee
I have a few of these as well. The fabric really does wick away the sweat. I had forgotten how well they worked and wore a regular t-shirt to run in one day and could really tell the difference!
I really like the color pop at the bottom of these capris!
I did notice that the prices differ somewhat online vs. in the store.
Hope you all have a great and ACTIVE rest of the week!
I hope your Monday is off to a great start! My weekend was a little shorter than I would have liked (aren’t they always too short?!) . I was in need of a pick-me-up after spending a few hours in the office on Saturday so I headed out to our local park for a walk through the woods.
“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” –John Burroughs
I walked a little over two miles and enjoyed some fresh (very cold, but fresh) air. While I can’t say I’ve ever liked getting dirty, I absolutely appreciate spending some time in nature. The sun was out and the top of the trail has a really nice view. I love to get an outside workout when I can! There’s only so much treadmill I can take.
The halfway point! Happy to be out enjoying some daylight!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week everyone!
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!
