Hello all and welcome back!!I hope you have all had a great week and are staying safe and warm in all this bad weather!
One of my favorite things to do on a snow day is to have a “me” day–meaning I do my nails, take a long bath, exfoliate–basically do all those little beauty things I don’t always have time to do. I love trying out products! I have had a product obsession since I was around 10 years old. I loved trying out new products, mostly from the drugstore since my small town had little else to offer in the way of cosmetics and beauty treatments. Now my linen closet is always bursting with masques, moisturizers, and scrubs. The addition of customer reviews to most websites has taken a lot of the trial-and-error out of trying new goodies!
Despite my love of trying new things, there are just some beauty products that can’t be beat in my book. I wanted to share some of my favorites–some are from the drugstore and some are more expensive products. I’ve used all of these for years and they are the foundation of my beauty routines!
OPI in Tickle My France-y— the perfect neural polish for the work week!
Cetaphil Gentle Skin cleanser–I use this night and day on my face and neck to cleanse without stripping my combination skin.
Redken Quick Tease
— I have fine hair and it’s hard to get body and volume but this spray gives me some “grip” at the roots so my hair get get a little higher to heaven!L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara
–I have been there and tried them all, drugstore, department store, and this one is buildable and doesn’t clump.
Kiehl’s Crème de Corps body lotion— this was on of my biggest splurges after I graduated from college. After one use I was hooked. It’s light and absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy. For such a light feel, it packs a big punch!
Goody Spin Pins–After years of ballet classes that required a bun, I thought I had it down to a science, until these little game changers came along! All it takes is two of these spin pins and my bun holds tightly all day. I no longer need piles of bobby pins!
MAC Skinfinish Natural Powder–This powder covers a multitude of sins without clogging my pores or being heavy. It sets my foundation perfectly, and covers enough of my redness if I want to skip the foundation altogether. It does a good job of keeping shine at bay too.
Estee Lauder Pleasures— They say everyone should have a signature scent. Pleasures has been mine since I was a teenager. It’s fresh and flowery and just a whiff of this stuff makes me happy!
Enjoy, and I hope you find products you love as much as I love these!
